The Opportunity: Maintenance Engineer (Injection & Mold Machines)
To support our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, we are seeking a highly skilled, proactive, and analytical Maintenance Engineer. Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our technical team, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and swift corrective repairs on injection moulding machines and related plant equipment.
- Diagnostic Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults systematically.
- Mould Management: Install, maintain, and service production moulds, ensuring optimal performance and excellent product quality.
- Calibration & Commissioning: Perform machine setup, calibration, and final commissioning after any maintenance or repair activities.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor machine efficiency trends and recommend data-driven improvements to minimize downtime.
- Inventory & Documentation: Maintain precise maintenance records, generate reports, and assist in managing the spare parts inventory.
- HSE Compliance: Ensure all technical operations strictly adhere to safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the production team to address mechanical issues immediately and train operators on basic equipment handling.
Required Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate should meet the following professional criteria:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- NYSC: Must possess an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
- Experience: 3–5 years of proven maintenance experience specifically within a plastic manufacturing company.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong, demonstrable knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems in injection moulding systems.
- Technical Literacy: Outstanding ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical manuals.
- Core Soft Skills: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, exceptional time management, effective communication, and the capacity to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
