Key Responsibilities

Your day to day will involve a dynamic range of responsibilities aimed at enhancing our product's core AI capabilities. You will be expected to:

Design, develop, and deploy advanced machine learning models, primarily focusing on computer vision and image processing applications.
Continuously improve the performance, accuracy, and efficiency of existing ML models within our software.
Research and experiment with state of the art deep learning techniques to solve novel challenges in photo editing.
Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to integrate ML solutions seamlessly into user experiences.
Optimize ML models for various platforms and ensure their scalability and reliability in production.
Contribute to the entire machine learning lifecycle, from data collection and annotation to model training, evaluation, and deployment.
Stay informed about the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and computer vision to keep Skylum at the innovative edge.

Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with a strong foundation and proven track record in machine learning, particularly within a product-focused environment. Ideal qualifications include:

Significant professional experience (5+ years preferred) as a Machine Learning Engineer or a similar role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in computer vision.
Deep understanding of machine learning principles, algorithms, and deep learning architectures (e.g., CNNs, GANs, Transformers).
Proficiency in Python and experience with popular ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Solid background in image processing techniques and libraries.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) for deploying and managing ML models is a plus.
Strong problem solving abilities and the capacity to tackle complex, ambiguous challenges independently.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical discussions and cross functional collaboration.
A passion for photography or visual arts is a distinct advantage.
