Key Responsibilities

You will take ownership of machine learning systems from initial conceptualization all the way to production serving.

Design, train, test, and ship machine learning models that interpret complex user queries and match them with relevant community discussions
Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and backend engineers to translate messy questions into crisp algorithmic solutions
Improve system latency and optimize ranking pipelines serving millions of active users every day
Design offline evaluations and run controlled online experiments to validate algorithm improvements
Provide technical mentorship to fellow engineers while championing clean code and dependable architecture across the ML organization

Requirements

We want experienced builders who pair strong analytical reasoning with proven production craft.

Deep background in production machine learning, especially within semantic search, information retrieval, natural language processing, or recommender systems
Proficiency in Python or equivalent languages, alongside strong familiarity with distributed data processing systems
Demonstrated expertise working with modern machine learning toolkits such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
Track record of owning projects end to end and driving tangible metrics in customer-facing products
Strong self-direction and clear communication skills suitable for an asynchronous, worldwide remote workplace
