Role Overview
Under the strategic direction of the Head of Operations Delivery, the Lead Tender Engineer will coordinate the end-to-end proposal development cycle. This role requires a unique blend of technical engineering understanding, financial modeling precision, and robust contract management skills. Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Proposal & Bid Lifecycle Coordination: Manage the full spectrum of proposal development, from handling RFQ intakes and document registers to assembling pricing sheets, tracking internal reviews, and final packaging for submission.
- Bid Tracking & Version Control: Maintain and optimize the Operations Delivery Bid Tracker and Quotation Register, ensuring seamless sequential tracking and version control.
- Financial & Profitability Modeling: Build dynamic pricing working sheets, profitability models, and analysis tabs in accordance with TPG standards, ensuring correct mark-ups, FX assumptions, WHT positions, and cashflow logic.
- Commercial Correspondence: Draft high-quality commercial cover notes, transmittal letters, and responses for external clients and global OEMs.
- Contract Repository Administration: Oversee live contract documents (including MSAs, LTSAs, POs, and NDAs), track variation orders, and proactively report compliance gaps.
- Milestone & Revenue Tracking: Monitor milestone payment schedules, trigger invoicing, manage retention releases, and pursue receivables, flagging at-risk payments to Finance and Operations leadership.
- Regulatory & OEM Interface: Act as the key commercial interface with customers, OEM partners, and essential Nigerian procurement portals such as NIPEX, NCDMB, GEP Smart, and client-specific tender systems.
- System Integration & KPIs: Input and maintain accurate SAP Project records, analyze margins, capture lessons learned on bids, and support weekly KPI tracking and meetings.
- Cross-Functional Support: Provide adjacent support to other units within Operations Delivery (Operations and Asset Reliability) to foster balanced workloads and professional growth.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a business-related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive operational experience in Proposal Coordination, Contracts Administration, or Commercial Operations specifically within the Oil & Gas, Power, or Rotating Equipment sectors.
- Core Competencies:
- Expertise in end-to-end bid management.
- In-depth familiarity with regulatory portals (NIPEX, NCDMB, GEP Smart).
- Solid contract administration skills (PO management, milestone tracking, WHT/retention).
