Role Overview & Purpose

As the Lead Project Controls & NC Reporting Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Project Management Team to deliver projects smoothly into active operations. Your primary accountabilities will revolve around Nigerian Content (NC) reporting, budget management, planning, change control, and critical contractual matters. You will ensure full compliance with terms and conditions across key project packages, manage variations or claims, and contribute toward a safe, incident-free project execution targeted for commissioning no later than Q4 2027.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead a wide variety of activities crucial to project success:

  • Project Controls, Documentation & Reporting: Implement and maintain rigorous project control standards, ensuring top-tier documentation management and the production of highly consistent execution and management reports.
  • Planning & Scheduling Control: Develop, track, and optimize the package execution schedule. You will proactively identify critical paths, pinpoint deviations, and recommend mitigation plans to the Package Manager.
  • Cost Control & Budget Management: Collaborate closely with Finance to supervise commitments, forecast trends, manage budget performance, and justify cost deviations.
  • Change & Variation Management: Consolidate, analyze, and document all technical, commercial, and schedule-based changes in alignment with TotalEnergies' change management frameworks.
  • Contractual & Commercial Support: Provide sound advisory services on contractors' claims, variations, and estimates, resolving commercial issues through robustly documented negotiations.
  • Nigerian Content Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to local regulatory frameworks, coordinating directly with the NCDMB to secure successful outcomes and report accurate NC compliance data.

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this high-impact position, candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of dedicated experience in Project Controls (Cost, Schedule, & Risk Management) and Contract Administration within major industrial or oil & gas projects.
  • Contract & Project Management: Strong expertise in project organization, contract writing, change management, and invoice validation.
  • Stakeholder & Negotiation Skills: Proven political acumen and communication skills required to manage relationships with external partners, authorities, and multiple EPC contractors.
  • Leadership Capability: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, foster collaborative environments, and manage demanding workloads.
