Join the Team at Caring Habitat: Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Caring Habitat, a premier 40-bed rehabilitation center dedicated to empowering patients on their journey from dependent to independent living, is seeking a diligent and skilled Janitor to join our operations team. In this critical role, you will be the backbone of our facility, ensuring that our infrastructure and clinical systems run smoothly to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for our patients.

The Role

This is not just a cleaning role; it is a comprehensive facility management position. You will be responsible for the optimal, safe, and efficient functioning of our operational equipment, including generators, lifts, solar and national grid power systems, water supply infrastructure, and bio-medical equipment. The position follows a structured schedule of one week on-duty (Monday to Sunday) and one week off, promoting a balanced work cycle.

Core Responsibilities

Facility Upkeep: Conduct daily inspections, perform minor repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting), and ensure all spaces are presentable.
Critical Systems Management: Monitor generators, oversee water treatment and supply, and maintain HVAC and lift systems.
Equipment Coordination: Maintain accurate asset registers and act as the liaison for specialized biomedical technicians.
Safety & Compliance: Regularly inspect fire safety equipment and ensure emergency exits are fully compliant with regulations.
Administrative Oversight: Manage maintenance logs, track fuel consumption, and source cost-effective parts and materials.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with relevant technical qualifications and prior experience in facility maintenance or custodial services. Please note that priority will be given to candidates who reside around Ajah and its environs due to the nature of the shift schedule.
