Job Summary
As an Instrument Technician (INST WHT), you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and optimal operation of instrumentation systems on Wellhead Tower (WHT) platforms and FPSO operations. Working closely with client supervisors and technical teams, you will play a key role in maintenance, calibration, and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:- Assist client (CNR) supervisors with instrument and electrical maintenance related to WHT Platforms.
- Assist the Process Supervisor and MSUP with instrument and electrical maintenance related to FPSO operations when delegated.
- Carry out operations and maintenance duties safely and professionally, fully adhering to YINSON HSEQ and CNR SHE guidelines.
- Ensure platforms operate in a safe condition and immediately report any irregularities.
- Plan and supervise work performed by the WHT maintenance crew.
- Maintain close cooperation with the WHT JTME and the client's WHT Team Leader technical personnel.
- Maintain, repair, update, and calibrate all instrument systems on the Wellhead.
- Act as a reliable backup resource for ELIT and other instrument technicians.
- Perform platform maintenance, specifically utilizing the AMOS computer system for reporting and tracking work orders.
- Manage stock in/out inventories and ensure spare parts availability in liaison with the CNR Representative.
- Check, record, and report the operational status of wellhead instrumentation.
- Assist ELIT and Instrument Technicians during interventions on FPSO utilities and production plants.
- Prepare, isolate, and de-isolate equipment safely during maintenance interventions.
- Assist with or perform shutdowns and start-ups of platform equipment and relevant utilities.
- Inspect safety equipment, reporting any anomalies without delay.
- Execute work permits (PTW) in strict compliance with CNR and YINSON systems.
- Understand and act swiftly in emergency alarm/shut-down situations (PSD, ESD, fire, and gas systems).
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free workspaces.
Professional Qualifications & Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Experience: A minimum of 4 years of field or production experience.
- Sector Experience: Previous experience as an Electro-Technical (Electrician) Officer on board tanker ships or production units is highly preferred, or an Automation Engineer with electrical education tailored for instrumentation systems.
- Technical Skills: Proven experience working with pneumatic field instrumentation. Strong working knowledge and understanding of Process/Field Logic control systems.
- Systems Knowledge: Practical knowledge of the AMOS system (AMOS Certificate is highly desirable).
- Language: Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Certifications: Relevant safety and technical training certifications as outlined in the Company Training and CBT Matrix.
