You will act as a senior technical authority, taking mature research and turning it into operational magic. Best of all, this is a fully remote role open to candidates worldwide, though being situated on the East Coast is preferred for specific contract alignments. Please note that this exciting position is contingent upon the finalization and approval of an upcoming contract modification.

Key Responsibilities

Spearhead the experimental implementation of advanced forecast systems and operational protocols.
Serve as a primary architect connecting scientific innovation directly to real time flood forecasting.
Mentor junior staff and help shape future research and development directions using the Operations to Research feedback loop.
Collaborate closely with internal subject matter experts and leverage robust technical resources to drive high visibility initiatives to success.

Requirements

Strong background in hydrology with extensive experience leading technical teams and government contracts.
Proven ability to translate complex research concepts into practical, operational forecasting systems.
Exceptional leadership skills with a passion for mentoring developing scientists.
