Role Overview
As the Hotel Facility / Pool Maintenance Officer, you will play a critical role in preserving the property’s aesthetic appeal, functionality, and safety. You will be responsible for ensuring that all facility systems are fully operational and that the swimming pool meets the highest standards of cleanliness and chemical balance. This position is perfect for a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in preventive maintenance and swift resolution of technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair hotel facilities, utilities, and general equipment.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on the hotel's plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Clean, monitor, and maintain the swimming pool daily, ensuring optimal water quality and accurate chemical balancing.
- Conduct regular structural and operational inspections to proactively identify and resolve potential maintenance issues.
- Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests escalated by various hotel departments.
- Keep detailed maintenance logs, records, and report any major required repairs directly to management.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental standards to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Keep all maintenance tools, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and secure.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) with at least 2 years of practical experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience in facility maintenance or pool maintenance within the hospitality industry is a highly valued advantage.
- Basic hands-on knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Understanding of swimming pool maintenance practices and water chemical treatments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a natural ability to solve technical and structural issues efficiently.
- Ability to work independently, manage your time well, and respond calmly and quickly to technical emergencies.
- Location Requirement: Applicants must reside within or around the Zango area of Lokoja.
