The Opportunity: Service Manager, Heavy Duty Diesel Engineering
As our Service Manager, you will be the cornerstone of our generator servicing and maintenance operations for our valued customers. This challenging yet rewarding role requires a hands-on approach to complex engineering tasks, leadership in project execution, and a commitment to ensuring uninterrupted power supply for our clients. You will be instrumental in upholding Terawork's reputation for reliability and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities: Driving Operational Excellence
- Perform comprehensive servicing and maintenance of existing customer generators.
- Conduct load audits and site inspections, preparing detailed estimates for both installation and repair projects.
- Independently manage and execute intricate repair and overhauling jobs on various generator capacities.
- Oversee and resolve branch service warranty issues efficiently and effectively.
- Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) for all generator stock at the branch before dispatch to customer sites, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
What We're Looking For: Your Profile
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled professional who meets the following criteria:
- Education: A Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
- Experience: 3-5 years of robust experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of leading a team focused on diesel generator repair and overhauling.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to repair, service, and overhaul engines of various capacities, particularly heavy-duty generators ranging from 1000-4000KVA (e.g., CAT and similar brands). Proficiency in driving both manual and automatic transmission vehicles is required for site visits.
- Added Advantage: Previous experience with solar solutions will be a significant plus.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, coupled with a strong ability to work independently. A willingness to travel extensively for site visits and client meetings is essential.
Clear Success Criteria at 90 Days:
Within your first 90 days, you will be expected to ensure real-time job card closure within 7 days as per company policy or provide clear justification for any extensions. Additionally, you will be a key driver in achieving the branch's expected revenue targets.
