Overview
As a Health IT Data Engineer at Aptive, you will provide advanced data engineering and analytics infrastructure support for the ICE Health Service Corps (IHSC) Health Information Technology Unit (HITU). Your primary mission involves IT modernization and enhancing enterprise data environments. This pivotal role requires you to design, build, configure, and maintain secure, reliable data pipelines, data structures, and intricate integration workflows. Your work will enable crucial analytics, reporting, and operational insight across IHSC clinical, operational, and administrative domains. This is a designated Key Personnel position, underscoring its importance to our mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scripted development utilizing powerful tools such as Python, SQL, and various ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Optimize data models and schemas specifically for enhanced reporting capabilities.
- Implement rigorous data validation, reconciliation, and quality control processes to ensure data integrity.
- Design, build, configure, and maintain secure and dependable data pipelines.
- Develop robust data structures and integration workflows that facilitate analytics, reporting, and operational insights.
- Conduct all development, configuration, and implementation activities within authorized Government-managed platforms and environments.
- Ensure strict adherence to Government oversight, direction, and approval protocols.
- Obtain written authorization from the COR or designated Government technical representative prior to any deployment to production environments.
Requirements
- Proven extensive experience in data engineering, particularly within Health IT or similar highly regulated environments.
- Expert proficiency in scripted development, including Python, SQL, and a variety of ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to design, build, and maintain secure and scalable data pipelines.
- Solid understanding and experience with data modeling, schema optimization for reporting, and data architecture principles.
- Strong background in implementing data validation, reconciliation, and robust quality control processes.
- Experience working with Government clients or within environments requiring stringent authorization and oversight is highly preferred.
- Exceptional problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a fully remote, global team setting.
