As the organization embarks on a mission to transform the Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA) into a world-class, globally competitive aviation hub, we are searching for an accomplished, strategic, and results-driven professional to take the helm as the Head of Safety, Quality & Compliance.

About the Role

This is a high-impact leadership position designed for an expert who understands the complexities of aviation safety and operational governance. You will report directly to Executive Management, spearheading the integration of Safety Management Systems (SMS), Quality Management Systems (QMS), and enterprise risk frameworks. Your work will be central to ensuring that the airport not only meets but exceeds both national and international aviation standards.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute a robust strategy for safety, quality, and compliance that aligns with the airport’s long-term corporate vision.
Direct the implementation of an Integrated Management System covering OHS, environmental management, and business continuity.
Serve as the primary liaison for ensuring strict adherence to ICAO Standards (SARPs) and Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (NCARs).
Oversee rigorous auditing, incident investigations, and corrective action programs to maintain operational resilience.
Foster a proactive safety culture throughout the organization, driving continuous improvement at all levels.

Who You Are

We are seeking a seasoned leader with at least 15 years of progressive experience, including a minimum of 7 years in a senior capacity within aviation, infrastructure, or highly regulated environments. You possess a degree in a relevant field and demonstrate a command of ISO standards and safety management certifications. Your leadership style is defined by integrity, analytical prowess, and the ability to drive large-scale organizational change.
