Key Responsibilities

As a Graduate Software Engineer, you'll be integrated into diverse engineering teams, tackling a wide array of software challenges across our open-source products and commercial business systems. Your work might involve:

Contributing to the development and maintenance of core Linux systems, potentially working at the lowest levels like BIOS, bootloaders, firmware, kernel, and drivers.
Writing clean, efficient, and well-tested code in languages such as Python, Golang, Rust, C/C++, JavaScript, and Bash.
Collaborating with a global team of expert engineers on innovative projects.
Debugging and troubleshooting complex software issues across various layers of the stack.
Participating in code reviews and contributing to architectural discussions.
Learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies within the open-source ecosystem.

Requirements

We are looking for aspiring software engineers graduating in 2025 or 2026 who are ready to launch a significant career. Ideal candidates will possess:

A strong academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
A genuine passion for open source software, Linux, and the Ubuntu ecosystem.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, with an eagerness to learn others like Python, Golang, Rust, C/C++, or JavaScript.
