If you have flown high-performance military jets or managed combat systems under pressure, you possess an operational instinct that algorithms simply cannot replicate without guidance. At micro1, we are working to advance artificial intelligence models that tackle sophisticated military concepts and rapid tactical decision-making. We are looking for experienced aviators who know the cockpit inside and out to inspect model outputs, identify unrealistic maneuvers, and ensure the logic matches real-world execution. This is a flexible, fully remote contract position open to qualified professionals across the globe.
Overview
Modern machine learning models require rigorous critique from subject matter experts to understand the nuances of combat aviation. In this role, you will serve as an authoritative evaluator for AI-generated scenarios covering flight operations, doctrine, and tactical planning. You will test the model's grasp of operational realities, pinpoint flaws in reasoning, and provide the detailed technical feedback needed to improve system reliability. You can complete this work from anywhere worldwide, setting hours that align with your lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities
In this engagement, your day-to-day focus will center on several essential evaluation areas
- Evaluate AI-generated simulations and scenarios involving fighter aviation, joint air operations, and tactical problem-solving
- Verify the accuracy and realism of simulated mission planning, air-to-air tactics, air-to-ground profiles, and weapons release parameters
- Scrutinize model answers for tactical sound judgment, procedural correctness, and adherence to established Rules of Engagement
- Deliver detailed, written expert assessments that explain why a particular response fails or succeeds from an operational perspective
- Collaborate asynchronously with researchers to raise the bar for defense-oriented AI reasoning
Requirements
Candidates must meet specific criteria based on real flight and operational backgrounds
- Service as a current or former military Fighter Pilot or Weapons Systems Officer
- Direct operational experience on platforms such as the F-16, F/A-18, F-15, F-35, A-10, or comparable high-performance combat aircraft
- Thorough grasp of modern military aviation tactics, weapons employment, and mission planning cycles
- Working knowledge of military command structures, operational standards, and tactical doctrine
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to translate tactical judgment into clear, actionable prose
What You'll Gain
This engagement offers a unique intersection of military aviation experience and advanced artificial intelligence
- A completely remote contract opportunity with worldwide flexibility
- Direct influence on how cutting-edge machine learning systems interpret defense scenarios
- Competitive compensation honoring your specialized tactical background
- Autonomous scheduling that accommodates your current commitments
