Jaza Energy, a pioneering last-mile energy company that builds innovative solar energy charging stations and rents batteries in off-grid communities, is expanding its operations in Nigeria and seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer (Solar Energy) based in Abia.

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in managing technical operations and swiftly resolving issues at the regional level. As an FSE, your core focus will be on maintaining robust technical systems to guarantee uninterrupted power at sites and optimal energy uptime at our hubs. Please note that this role requires significant travel within Nigeria as the company continues its rapid expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure energy uptime and power availability at sites by monitoring the system and quickly diagnosing and solving technical issues.
Support the setup of new hubs, ensure connectivity, and perform routine hub energy system maintenance through on-site visits or remote troubleshooting.
Oversee the installation and configuration of solar panels, electrical wiring, and associated equipment.
Collaborate with Jaza Stars and the data team to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges.
Document field activities and maintain accurate inventory records for hub equipment and product components.
Prepare regular reports on hub health and technical issues for submission to the Regional Service Engineer.

Qualifications and Requirements

Proven expertise in installing or ensuring the uptime of energy systems, ideally working with both diesel and solar systems.
A minimum of 2-3 years of technical or engineering experience within the telecommunications, energy, or related sectors. (Hands-on experience is prioritized over formal educational pedigree).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a steadfast commitment to HSE safety standards and compliance.
Proficiency with data analysis tools and reporting software, including the MS Office suite and Google products.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.
A genuine passion for Jaza Energy's mission of increasing energy access, combined with tech-savviness and a readiness to learn.
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
