Key Responsibilities
As the Factory Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the operational success of the plant. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Operational Leadership: Lead and oversee all day-to-day factory operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and organizational objectives are met consistently.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, optimize manufacturing costs, and improve overall process efficiency.
- Resource Planning: Oversee production planning, inventory management, and strategic resource allocation to ensure seamless and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Maintenance Management: Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules to maximize equipment reliability and minimize costly operational downtime.
- HSE Compliance: Ensure total compliance with Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), local regulatory standards, and company-specific quality protocols across all plant operations.
- Team Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and develop diverse teams across production, engineering, maintenance, quality assurance, and warehouse departments to deliver high-performance outcomes.
- KPI Reporting: Monitor and analyze operational KPIs, prepare comprehensive management reports, and implement decisive corrective actions to continuously improve plant output.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with senior management to support overall business growth, scaling strategies, and long-term continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this high-impact position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline. An MBA or a relevant postgraduate qualification is a significant advantage.
- Experience: 8 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing, specifically within the construction chemicals, building materials, or closely related construction industries.
- Leadership Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a senior factory, plant, or operations management role.
- Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of production planning, process manufacturing, industrial automation, quality management systems (QMS), and modern maintenance management methodologies.
- Soft Skills: Proven capability in managing factory operations budgets, leading cross-functional teams, and implementing continuous improvement projects. Outstanding leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills are essential.
