Key Responsibilities

Lead and Mentor: Guide and grow a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and excellence.
Drive Technical Strategy: Collaborate with product and other engineering leaders to define technical roadmaps and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Team Growth: Actively participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of new engineering talent as we significantly expand our team.
Project Execution: Oversee the delivery of high-quality software, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
Foster an Empowering Culture: Champion Ashby's unique engineering philosophy, empowering engineers to make significant product and technical decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, design, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative features and improvements.

Requirements

Proven Engineering Background: You have a strong track record as a software engineer, having built and shipped impressive products yourself.
Leadership Experience: Significant experience leading, managing, and mentoring engineering teams.
Growth Mindset: A passion for developing engineers, building cohesive teams, and scaling engineering organizations thoughtfully.
Technical Acumen: The ability to understand complex technical challenges and contribute to strategic technical discussions.
Product Orientation: A strong understanding of product development, ideally with experience empowering engineers to engage with product decisions.
Remote Work Proficiency: Demonstrated success working effectively in a fully remote environment.
