About Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc
Established in 1960 and commencing operations in 1962, Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc has grown to become one of the largest single-site mills globally. Our journey, marked by significant investment exceeding N25 billion in milling infrastructure over the past seven years, underscores our dedication to maintaining a competitive edge. Our Apapa, Lagos facility boasts 10 integrated mills with a rated capacity of over 8,000 metric tons per day, designed for optimal efficiency through gravity-optimized sifting processes. We are also proud of our substantial investments in power generation, featuring 11 GE Jenbacher gas generators with a combined capacity of 30 megawatts, complemented by a 30-megawatt diesel backup plant, ensuring robust and uninterrupted operations.
The Opportunity: Electrical Technician
As an Electrical Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency and reliability of our extensive electrical systems. Your expertise will directly support our business objectives by conducting essential preventive and corrective maintenance. This role encompasses the installation, rigorous testing, routine maintenance, and critical repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures across our factory and office facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the installation and commissioning phases of new electrical equipment and machinery within both factory and office environments.
- Execute routine preventive maintenance on electrical wiring, diverse equipment, various appliances, and fixed installations to preempt potential issues.
- Conduct thorough inspections of electrical systems, components, and equipment to proactively identify hazards, defects, and upcoming maintenance requirements.
- Skillfully diagnose complex electrical faults, accurately determine the root causes of breakdowns, and implement highly effective corrective actions.
- Perform comprehensive maintenance and intricate repairs on electrical systems to guarantee optimal equipment performance and unwavering reliability.
- Systematically identify electrical equipment or installations that may pose safety risks and provide expert recommendations for appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a proactive and skilled individual with a solid foundation in electrical maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 O-Level credits, including Mathematics and English, or NABTEB, or Trade Test Grade.
- NABTEB / City & Guilds (C&G) qualification in a relevant discipline.
Experience:
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance and repairs.
- Experience working with automated production lines will be a distinct advantage.
The Person Must:
- Possess strong electrical troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills.
- Have a sound understanding of industrial electrical systems, control panels, and electrical installations.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of electrical safety standards and maintenance best practices.
