Your Role as an Electrical Technician
As an Electrical Technician at Dangote Cement Plc, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous and safe operation of our plant machinery. Your primary responsibilities will involve the routine maintenance, skilled installation, and timely repair of electrical power systems, motors, and motor control circuits. This position is vital for maintaining the high standards of efficiency and reliability that define our operations.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Routine Maintenance: Perform comprehensive maintenance tasks, including in-depth fault analysis, precise component replacements, accurate alignments and calibrations, and necessary repairs.
- System Modifications: Install new control circuits and execute modifications to existing instrument and electrical systems as required to optimize performance.
- PLC System Expertise: Conduct thorough fault analysis on PLC-based systems, including control logic modification when necessary, to ensure seamless automation.
- Equipment Installation: Install electrical machines and equipment meticulously, adhering strictly to prescribed blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other technical specifications.
- Device Development/Modification: Develop or modify industrial electronic devices, circuits, or equipment according to specified requirements, enhancing operational capabilities.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all tasks are executed in full compliance with established Management Systems and rigorous Plant safety regulations, upholding our commitment to a safe working environment.
- Ad-hoc Duties: Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Engineer or Shift Engineer to support overall plant operations and team objectives.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements)
To succeed in this role, you will bring a combination of technical expertise, practical skills, and a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence:
- Educational Qualification: An Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or an equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in an industrial setting, ideally within a manufacturing or heavy industry environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated good practical and technical skills in electrical systems, with a solid understanding of engineering drawings and principles.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, relay technical information clearly, and provide updates.
- Problem-Solving Acumen: Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose issues accurately and implement effective, lasting solutions efficiently.
