The Role: Electrical Technician (6000TCD Mill Operation)
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, reliability, and maintenance of all electrical systems within the 6000 TCD milling section. This critical role ensures stable power supply, optimal equipment performance, and strict adherence to industrial safety standards to minimize production downtime.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As an Electrical Technician, your daily responsibilities will include:
- System Operation & Maintenance: Overseeing the operation, maintenance, and overall performance of the milling plant’s electrical equipment to ensure safe and continuous production.
- Operational Monitoring: Monitoring and controlling key operational parameters to keep processes running smoothly.
- Preventive Maintenance: Collaborating on the planning and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize unscheduled downtime.
- Repairs & Replacements: Securing production continuity by ensuring timely repairs and replacement of malfunctioning electrical components.
- Team Coordination: Working closely with mechanical, instrumentation, and other operational units to guarantee the seamless integration of auxiliary systems.
- Safety Compliance: Implementing, monitoring, and adhering to company and statutory safety practices and guidelines.
- Documentation: Keeping precise, up-to-date records, logbooks, and detailed reports on mill operations, maintenance activities, and downtime events.
- Inventory & Spares Management: Coordinating with procurement and stores to ensure the constant availability of critical spare parts and consumables.
- Mentorship: Providing clear technical guidance and hands-on training to subordinate technicians to improve skills and output.
Educational Qualifications and Experience Required
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following:
- Education: Minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) or National Diploma (ND) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Experience: At least 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in mill operations and electrical maintenance, preferably within a sugar processing plant or a similar heavy process industry.
