Key Responsibilities
As an Electrical Engineer at AIG, your core mission will be to ensure the seamless operations of the plant's electrical infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintenance Management: Performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment to maximize plant availability and efficiency.
- Troubleshooting & Fault Finding: Diagnosing and rectifying complex electrical faults on motors, transformers, switchgear, PLCs, VFDs, and other heavy-duty production equipment.
- System Monitoring & Optimization: Monitoring electrical systems and identifying innovative solutions to enhance overall efficiency while reducing unscheduled downtime.
- Projects & Commissioning: Actively participating in the installation, testing, commissioning, and modification of new and existing electrical systems.
- Power Distribution Control: Ensuring the proper maintenance, calibration, and safety of power distribution systems and control panels.
- Inspections & Compliance: Conducting routine inspections and testing of electrical installations in accordance with HSE standards and regulations.
- Documentation: Keeping precise maintenance records, updating electrical schematic drawings, and securing equipment documentation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnering closely with the Mechanical and Production departments to maintain uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Driving energy-efficiency initiatives and continuous improvement cycles to scale up equipment reliability.
Requirements and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and professional experience:
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience, preferably within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial organization.
- Industry Advantage: Direct experience in steel manufacturing is considered a highly desirable advantage.
- Technical Expertise: Deep practical knowledge of industrial electrical systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), transformers, and switchgear.
