Overview

We are searching for a highly skilled and experienced Drupal Lead to serve as a key contributor to an international organization's web operations in New York. This critical role is for a long-term contract position, requiring a dedicated professional who can commit to working eight consecutive hours daily, aligning with normal New York, US office hours. You will leverage your deep Drupal knowledge and leadership capabilities to manage projects, mentor developers, and ensure the successful delivery of robust web solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all web operations and maintenance activities, as well as new web development projects.
Provide comprehensive team leadership and effective management for new web projects from conception to completion.
Guide and mentor small teams of developers working on both operational tasks and new project initiatives.
Lead the entire software development lifecycle for Drupal, encompassing detailed analysis, thoughtful design, precise configuration, skillful programming, thorough documentation, and rigorous unit testing.
Collaborate closely with clients, conducting in-depth business analysis to accurately determine and document their specific requirements.
Work hand-in-hand with web developers, offering expert guidance and support on the technical implementation of project requirements.
Perform essential site-building activities, including the creation and modification of views, contexts, and blocks to precisely match the functionality outlined in wireframes and design specifications.
Design, create, and thoroughly test custom Drupal modules to extend and enhance site functionality.

Requirements

You bring more than three years of proven leadership experience specifically within a Drupal environment.
A strong background as a freelancer or contractor, understanding the dynamics and responsibilities of such roles.
The ability to consistently work eight consecutive hours per day, aligning with standard New York, US office hours.
Exceptional Drupal expertise, including site-building, custom module development, and a deep understanding of the Drupal ecosystem.
Demonstrated experience in leading the full software development lifecycle.
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
