Overview

As the Director, Global Diagnostics Strategy Lead, you will be instrumental in defining, developing, and executing Amgen’s global diagnostics strategy across our diverse and growing pipeline. You will integrate diagnostic considerations into every stage of product development, from early research through commercialization, ensuring alignment with our overarching therapeutic strategies. This role demands a blend of scientific acumen, business insight, and leadership, fostering cross-functional collaboration with research, development, regulatory affairs, commercial teams, and external partners. Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive global diagnostic strategies for Amgen's pipeline and commercialized products across therapeutic areas.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including R&D, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams to integrate diagnostic considerations into drug development and launch plans.
Conduct thorough market analyses, competitive intelligence, and landscape assessments to identify emerging diagnostic trends, technologies, and partnership opportunities.
Drive the selection, development, and validation of companion diagnostics and complementary diagnostics in support of Amgen's innovative therapies.
Ensure diagnostic strategies comply with global regulatory requirements and health technology assessment frameworks.
Manage external collaborations with diagnostic partners, academic institutions, and industry consortia to advance Amgen’s diagnostic capabilities.
Provide expert guidance on diagnostic market access and reimbursement strategies to optimize product adoption and patient access.
Influence and educate internal teams on the strategic importance and evolving landscape of diagnostics in precision medicine.
Act as a key subject matter expert, representing Amgen at scientific conferences, industry forums, and with key opinion leaders in the diagnostics space.

Requirements

Doctorate degree (Ph.D., M.D., Pharm.D.) with 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, or a Master's degree with 12 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 14 years of relevant experience.
Minimum of 8 years of experience specifically within diagnostics strategy, development, or commercialization in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing complex projects and cross-functional teams in a global setting.
Deep understanding of the diagnostic development lifecycle, regulatory pathways (e.g., FDA, EMA), and commercialization processes.
Strong scientific background in areas relevant to Amgen’s therapeutic focus, such as oncology, immunology, cardiology, or rare diseases.
Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
