Overview

Exceptionly is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer specializing in ElasticSearch for an exciting three-month contract. This full-time, 100% remote position (after initial onboarding) offers the chance to make a significant impact on critical infrastructure. You'll play a pivotal role in reviewing, reconfiguring, and fine-tuning ElasticSearch clusters, ensuring optimal performance and robust security. While this is a fully remote, worldwide opportunity, the successful candidate will spend one week at our Chennai office for initial onboarding, with accommodation provided.

Key Responsibilities

Reviewing existing ElasticSearch clusters and expertly reconfiguring them with integrated machine learning support.
Strategically choosing the most appropriate instance types to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Implementing comprehensive security controls, including Role Based Access Control (RBAC), Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC), and precise IP filtering.
Significantly improving performance for both read and write/bulk operations across the ElasticSearch environment.
Executing advanced performance tuning on storage, documents, and indices, utilizing a Hot-Warm Architecture for optimal data management.
Setting up and maintaining robust stack monitoring for data streaming and node health.
Integrating multiple event log sources seamlessly into the ElasticSearch stack.

Requirements

Proven expertise as a DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on ElasticSearch.
Demonstrated ability to configure and optimize ElasticSearch clusters, including ML integration.
Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and instance type selection.
Extensive experience implementing security measures within ElasticSearch (RBAC, ABAC, IP filtering).
Track record of improving ElasticSearch performance for various operations.
Familiarity with Hot-Warm Architecture for performance tuning and data management.
Proficiency in setting up and managing monitoring solutions for ElasticSearch.
Experience with integrating diverse event log sources.
Commitment to a full-time schedule, 8 hours per day / 160 hours per month.
Ability to travel to Chennai, India, for a one-week initial onboarding process (accommodation will be provided).
