We are now searching for a Devices and IoT Field Engineering Manager to lead a talented team of Field Engineers across the Americas region. In this crucial role, you will drive presales and professional services activities, helping our diverse range of customers architect, design, and deliver robust IoT solutions built on Ubuntu Core and our secure device management platforms. Your mission will be to enable companies to create fleets of highly secure, connected devices, leveraging Canonical's unique Long Term Support and secure update mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

As a Devices and IoT Field Engineering Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team of Field Engineers focused on the Americas region.
Driving presales activities, engaging with customers to understand their unique IoT device needs and demonstrating the value of Canonical's solutions.
Overseeing the technical design and solution architecture phases for customer projects, ensuring successful implementation and deployment.
Guiding professional services engagements from inception through delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction and project success.
Collaborating closely with product development teams to provide valuable customer feedback and influence future product roadmaps.
Acting as a senior technical escalation point for your team and key customers.
Fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, including public cloud providers, silicon vendors, and industry leaders.
Contributing to the strategic direction of our Devices and IoT offerings within the Americas market.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with a strong blend of technical expertise and leadership acumen. Ideal candidates will possess:

Proven experience in a technical leadership or management role, ideally within embedded Linux, IoT, or device engineering.
Solid understanding of embedded systems, Linux operating systems (especially Ubuntu), and secure device lifecycles.
Experience with presales and professional services delivery in a customer-facing capacity.
Demonstrated ability to architect and design complex IoT or embedded solutions for enterprise customers.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
A track record of successfully managing and growing technical teams.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and their integration with edge devices is a plus.
Ability to travel internationally for team meetings and customer engagements as needed (typically 2-4 times annually).
