Overview

Ashby is looking for an exceptional Design Engineer to join our fully remote, worldwide team. This isn't just a frontend role with a new title, nor is it a designer who occasionally codes prototypes. We're seeking individuals who excel in both disciplines, crafting intuitive user experiences and bringing them to life with robust, elegant code. You'll tackle some of our most complex design challenges, deeply integrating your understanding of UX, UI, and technical capabilities to create innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and technical implementation of critical product features, ensuring excellence in both areas.
Work on our most challenging design problems, contributing to both the conceptualization and detailed execution.
Influence the design and flexibility of data models based on profound UX and UI insights.
Leverage an understanding of technology's capabilities to simplify and enhance overall design.
Actively collaborate with product, engineering, and design teams, providing guidance and raising the bar for quality across the board.
Contribute to the growth and mentorship of a rapidly expanding Design Engineering team.

Requirements

Proven track record of excellence in both user interface design and frontend engineering.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex user problems into elegant, intuitive, and technically sound solutions.
Strong proficiency in modern web technologies and a deep understanding of frontend architecture.
A keen eye for detail in design and a commitment to high-quality code.
Exceptional problem solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working within a diverse, remote team.
Experience working on complex, data-heavy applications is highly desirable.
