The Role
As a Design Architect, you will play a pivotal role in the design development process, taking ownership of projects from initial concept through to final construction documentation. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with engineering consultants, and provide mentorship to junior staff. Key Responsibilities
- Design Excellence: Translate conceptual ideas into high-quality, detailed architectural designs and construction drawings.
- Project Oversight: Manage day-to-day project workflows, ensuring milestones and timelines are consistently achieved.
- Consultant Integration: Collaborate seamlessly with structural and MEP engineers to integrate complex building systems.
- Regulatory Compliance: Navigate municipal requirements and ensure all designs adhere to Nigerian building codes.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior architects and drafters, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Site Management: Perform regular site inspections to ensure construction quality and resolve field-level challenges.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of professional experience, ideally within a reputable architectural practice.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert mastery of BIM (Revit), AutoCAD, and advanced 3D visualization software such as Lumion or V-Ray.
- Professional Affiliation: Active registration with ARCON or membership with the NIA is highly valued.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of local construction materials, methods, and technical detailing.
