Overview

Holiday World, alongside Holiday Channel, is spearheading the future of holiday entertainment. We are looking for an ambitious and driven Data Engineer to join our fully remote team. This is an excellent early-career or internship opportunity for someone looking to build significant experience in data infrastructure, pipeline development, and data quality assurance. You will play a vital role in building and optimizing Holiday World’s data architecture, creating pipelines, managing data flows, and ensuring clean, reliable datasets for our analytics and advanced AI systems. Key Responsibilities

Architect and maintain robust ETL/ELT data pipelines, transforming raw data into actionable insights.
Process and manage diverse datasets, including both structured and unstructured formats.
Design and implement efficient data ingestion and transformation workflows.
Integrate various APIs and external data sources to enrich our data ecosystem.
Actively improve data quality, establish validation rules, and set up effective monitoring systems.
Provide essential data support for dashboards, reporting tools, and machine learning or AI pipelines.
Identify and implement optimizations across our data warehouse, pipelines, and cloud infrastructure for peak performance.
Contribute meaningfully to our data governance policies and comprehensive documentation efforts.

Requirements

We’re seeking someone who brings a solid foundational understanding and eagerness to learn:

Strong proficiency in Python for scripting and data manipulation.
Excellent command of SQL for querying and managing relational databases.
Familiarity with cloud data warehousing solutions such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or PostgreSQL.
A foundational grasp of ETL/ELT processes and data modeling concepts.
An enthusiastic, problem solving mindset ready to tackle complex data challenges.
Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment and manage tasks independently.
