Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines: Crafting both batch and real-time systems that power crucial analytics, experimentation initiatives, and sophisticated machine learning models across our dynamic platform.
Contribute to Data Platform architecture: Actively shaping and maintaining our core Data Platform, guaranteeing that all systems are performant, cost-efficient, and inherently scalable to support Gopuff's rapid growth.
Partner cross-functionally: Collaborating closely with our analytics, product, engineering, and operations teams to deliver data products that are trustworthy, discoverable, and ready for action.
Ensure data quality and reliability: Implementing robust monitoring and alerting for data quality, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all data assets.
Optimize data infrastructure: Continuously identifying and implementing improvements to our data processing frameworks and storage solutions for optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

At least 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role focusing on large-scale data systems.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for data engineering (e.g., Python, Scala, Java).
Strong expertise with SQL and experience working with various relational and NoSQL databases.
Demonstrated experience designing, building, and maintaining robust ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their data services.
Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster).
Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and data governance principles.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse technical and non-technical teams.
