Overview
Have you ever wanted to work directly with the creators and leaders of the Apache Airflow project? As a Customer Reliability Engineer at Astronomer, you get to do exactly that. You will join our Customer Reliability Engineering team as an Airflow expert, providing top-tier guidance to sophisticated organizations. Because our customers rely on Airflow for their most critical workflows, this is not your average help desk role. You will solve complex, deeply technical challenges every single day while helping global enterprises succeed on our managed platform. This position is fully remote and open to candidates worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex support tickets involving Apache Airflow and our managed platform.
- Partner directly with enterprise customers to optimize their data pipelines and architecture.
- Collaborate closely with core maintainers and product engineers to surface bugs and shape the future of Airflow.
- Write internal and external documentation, runbooks, and technical guides to share knowledge.
- Proactively identify recurring customer friction points and advocate for product improvements.
Requirements
- Deep, hands-on experience working with Apache Airflow in production environments.
- Strong background in software engineering, systems administration, or DevOps.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills involving distributed systems and Python.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities when interacting with sophisticated enterprise users.
- A genuine passion for open source software and helping others succeed.
