Overview

The Center for Biological Diversity is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization passionately committed to protecting all life on Earth. We champion the conservation of endangered species and wild places through science, law, and creative media. As our new Content Producer, you will play a crucial role within our Membership and Development program, working to build awareness, engage supporters, and inspire action for our mission. This is a full time, regular position, fully remote and open to talented individuals worldwide. You will report to our Lead Content Producer and become an integral part of a team dedicated to making a difference.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will play a crucial part in our efforts to protect the natural world. Your main responsibilities will involve a range of crucial tasks, some of which include:

Developing compelling, accurate, and engaging content across various platforms, including email campaigns, website articles, social media posts, and fundraising materials.
Translating complex scientific and legal information into accessible, inspiring stories for a diverse audience.
Collaborating closely with program staff, communications specialists, and designers to ensure cohesive messaging and brand consistency.
Conducting research to identify compelling story angles, facts, and visuals that highlight conservation issues and victories.
Editing and proofreading content to maintain high standards of quality, clarity, and grammatical correctness.
Managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met with precision and creativity.
Contributing to content strategy and brainstorming sessions to enhance our outreach and engagement efforts.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with a proven track record and a genuine passion for our cause. You should possess these qualifications:

Demonstrable experience in content production, professional writing, or digital communications, preferably within a nonprofit or advocacy setting.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with an ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and platforms.
A strong understanding of environmental and conservation issues, with a commitment to protecting biodiversity.
Proficiency in using content management systems, email marketing platforms, and social media tools.
Self motivation and excellent organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a remote work environment.
Strong collaborative spirit and interpersonal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, environmental studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Please note: This position is part of a bargaining unit, which may entail some fees as a condition of employment depending on your location.
