Overview

ManTech is actively seeking a highly motivated and customer centric Senior VMWare Cloud Engineer to become a vital part of our CASTLE NET Program team. This is a fully remote position, open to candidates worldwide, offering you the flexibility to contribute your expertise from anywhere. You will join an agile team dedicated to providing the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) OCIO/G 6 with agile, innovative, customer focused, and cost effective integrated enterprise IT support services. This critical work directly supports the USACE vision of engineering solutions for the Nation’s toughest challenges, making your contribution impactful and far reaching.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage robust VMWare based cloud solutions, including vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and vRealize Suite components.
Provide expert level technical support and troubleshooting for complex VMWare environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to define system requirements, architect solutions, and integrate new technologies.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all VMWare configurations, processes, and procedures.
Implement and enforce security best practices within the VMWare cloud infrastructure to meet stringent defense standards.
Perform system monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning to proactively address potential issues and ensure scalability.
Automate routine tasks using scripting languages and VMWare automation tools to enhance efficiency.
Participate in on call rotation and provide timely resolution to critical incidents, minimizing downtime.
Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge to foster a collaborative and growth oriented team environment.

Requirements

Security Clearance: An active Secret security clearance is required to begin.
Experience: Significant experience, typically 5+ years, working with VMWare virtualization and cloud technologies in an enterprise environment.
Technical Expertise: Proven proficiency in designing, deploying, and managing VMWare vSphere, NSX T, vSAN, and vRealize Automation/Orchestrator.
Cloud Knowledge: Understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Networking Fundamentals: Strong grasp of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewall concepts.
Storage Acumen: Familiarity with various storage technologies (e.g., SAN, NAS) and their integration with VMWare.
Scripting Skills: Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript for automation.
Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of articulating complex technical information clearly.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively within an agile team framework, contributing to collective success.
