Opportunity: Chief Security Officer (Airport) – Lead the Future of Aviation Safety

Nextzon Business Services Limited, on behalf of our client, Aero Alliance, is seeking a high-caliber Chief Security Officer (CSO) to spearhead the transformation of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA) into a world-class, globally competitive aviation hub.

The Role

As the Chief Security Officer, you will report directly to Executive Management, providing the strategic foresight necessary to navigate complex security landscapes. You will be responsible for:

Developing and executing the Airport’s Security Strategy and Aviation Security Programme.
Overseeing critical operations, including passenger and baggage screening, surveillance, access control, and emergency response.
Ensuring seamless compliance with ICAO Standards, NCARs, and the NCASP.
Fostering collaborative relationships with the NCAA, FAAN, and national security agencies.
Leading crisis management initiatives and driving the adoption of cutting-edge security technologies.

What We Are Looking For

We are searching for an accomplished leader who possesses a blend of strategic intelligence and operational pragmatism. Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

Experience: At least 15 years of progressive security experience, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership capacity within aviation, defense, law enforcement, or highly regulated environments.
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, Criminology, Aviation Management, or a related field (Master’s degree is highly preferred).
Competencies: Proven expertise in risk management, crisis leadership, and stakeholder engagement, coupled with strong decision-making capabilities.
Character: Unwavering integrity, professional judgment, and the ability to inspire a high-performing team.
