Overview

Gopuff is redefining instant commerce, making everyday essentials available on demand. This pivotal Category Manager role is responsible for the complete lifecycle of our Home Care, Health & Wellness, and Lifestyle departments. You will manage the P&L, curate compelling assortments, optimize pricing strategies, and drive marketing initiatives across Gopuff’s extensive network. We are seeking a seasoned merchant who possesses a proven track record in owning CPG categories. Success in this role demands an opportunistic and product-focused individual, capable of fostering strong partnerships with various cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Distributors, Suppliers, Legal, and Digital Merchandising. A robust analytical background is essential to analyze data and pricing, thereby influencing our strategic direction effectively. Key Responsibilities

Own the P&L: Take full ownership of the profit and loss for the Home Care, Health & Wellness, and Lifestyle categories, driving growth and profitability.
Strategic Assortment Curation: Develop and execute innovative assortment strategies that resonate with customer needs and market trends.
Pricing & Promotion Optimization: Formulate and implement dynamic pricing and promotional strategies to maximize sales and margin.
Vendor & Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with key suppliers, distributors, and vendors.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner seamlessly with Supply Chain, Digital Merchandising, Marketing, and Legal teams to execute category plans.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage deep analytical insights from sales data, market trends, and competitive analysis to inform all strategic choices.
Market & Trend Analysis: Continuously monitor the industry landscape, consumer behavior, and competitive activities to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks.
Innovate & Expand: Champion the discovery and introduction of exciting new products, brands, and categories to enhance our customer offering.

Requirements

Demonstrated success as a seasoned Merchant with a proven track record of owning and significantly growing a CPG category.
A strong analytical background, comfortable with complex data analysis to influence strategy and drive results.
Exceptional problem-solving skills, capable of navigating challenges in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.
Opportunistic and product-focused mindset, with a keen eye for market trends and consumer preferences.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting strategies and influencing partners.
