About Think of Us
Think of Us (TOU) is at the forefront of transforming the child welfare system into one where young people and families truly heal, develop, and thrive. We are a purpose-driven organization dedicated to meaningful systems change, fueled by data and the invaluable insights of lived experience. Our core focus involves prevention, strengthening families before crises hit, and building kinship-first systems so children grow up with the people they know and trust. Through powerful collaborations with leaders across public and private sectors, from Presidential Administrations to local providers, we pinpoint leverage points and co-create solutions that are re-architecting child welfare for the future. Our impact includes building the Lived Experience Engine into the largest dataset of its kind with over 51,000 voices, partnering with California to launch the Kinship Accelerator backed by substantial funding, driving a national kin-first shift in nearly 40 states, and operating one of the largest direct resource networks that has connected 1,827 families to more than $28 million in support.
