As a Campus Staff Minister, you will be at the heart of this mission. Key Responsibilities: Building Witnessing Communities
As a Campus Staff Minister, your daily work will revolve around pursuing maturity as a disciple of Jesus Christ, ensuring your life and ministry increasingly demonstrate a profound love for God, His Word, people of every ethnicity and culture, and His global purposes. Your responsibilities include:
- Spiritual Nurturing: Cultivate your own vibrant relationship with Jesus through consistent prayer, Bible study, and spiritual disciplines, setting an example for students.
- Discipleship and Mentorship: Mentor undergraduate students individually and in small groups, guiding them through spiritual formation, leadership development, and understanding their calling.
- Community Building: Facilitate and support the creation of diverse, welcoming, and Christ-centered communities on campus where students can belong, grow, and serve.
- Evangelism and Outreach: Equip students to share their faith authentically and engage with campus culture in relevant ways, inviting others into a relationship with Jesus.
- Leadership Development: Recruit, train, and empower student leaders to take ownership of the ministry, developing their gifts and preparing them for future impact.
- Cross-Cultural Engagement: Foster an inclusive environment that values and celebrates students from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds, actively promoting reconciliation and understanding.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other InterVarsity staff, faculty, and volunteers, contributing to a cohesive and strategic regional ministry effort.
- Administration and Fundraising: Manage ministry operations, including budgeting, reporting, and developing financial partnerships to sustain the work.
Requirements: Who You Are
We are searching for passionate individuals with a deep commitment to Christian faith and a heart for college students. Ideal candidates will possess:
- A mature and growing personal faith in Jesus Christ, demonstrated through consistent spiritual practices.
- Proven experience in spiritual leadership, discipleship, or ministry, particularly with young adults.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of connecting with diverse groups of students and stakeholders.
- A heart for evangelism and a desire to see students come to know Jesus.
- The ability to recruit, train, and motivate volunteers and student leaders.
- Cultural intelligence and a commitment to fostering ethnic diversity and reconciliation within campus communities.
- Excellent organizational and administrative abilities, including managing projects and resources effectively.
- A Bachelor's degree is typically preferred, or equivalent experience in ministry or related fields.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
