We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Boiler Technician to join our dynamic team. Role Summary
The Boiler Technician will be the cornerstone for ensuring our steam boilers and heating systems operate at peak efficiency and reliability. Your expertise will directly impact our production efficiency, workplace safety, and energy conservation efforts, making this a critical position within our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure optimal operational efficiency and reliability of all steam boilers and associated heating systems.
- Conduct hourly monitoring, proactive repairs, and necessary adjustments to prevent costly breakdowns and mitigate their impact on production schedules.
- Identify and address potential issues such as wear, leaks, or safety hazards promptly, implementing effective corrective actions.
- Perform comprehensive troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical, and control system faults within boiler operations.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate service records, operational logs, and compliance documentation to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Strictly adhere to all safety procedures relevant to maintenance, engineering, and operational activities.
- Actively participate in maintenance safety training programs and provide valuable guidance to junior engineering team members.
- Uphold a high standard of cleanliness and organization within the work area, ensuring a hazard-free environment.
- Undertake additional job-related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the engineering department.
Qualifications & Experience
- An Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Possession of a Certificate in Boiler Operation and Maintenance is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Boiler Technician or in a closely related mechanical maintenance role.
- Relevant technical certification or trade qualification, such as NABTEB or City & Guilds, is highly regarded.
Key Competencies
- Profound knowledge of boiler systems, combustion processes, and applicable safety regulations.
- Exceptional ability to accurately read and interpret complex technical manuals, schematic drawings, and related operational documentation.
