Overview

This is a flexible, highly independent contractor position offering between seventy and one hundred dollars per hour. You will commit fifteen to twenty hours each week working asynchronously from wherever you are in the world. Your primary mission will involve creating rigorous benchmarks that test how well state of the art artificial intelligence models handle real world scientific software and complex biological workflows.

Key Responsibilities

You will design challenging computational problems specifically tailored to evaluate artificial intelligence systems using actual scientific software. Your work involves developing complex scenarios requiring strategic planning and multi step workflows to rigorously test AI models. You will continuously refine problem difficulty through iterative testing against the latest language and reasoning models. Collaborating closely on single cell RNA seq analysis, trajectory inference, and spatial transcriptomics will be a daily routine utilizing top tier tools like scanpy, scvelo, squidpy, and gudhi. Operating independently and asynchronously allows you to meet your deadlines while constantly improving the overall problem design.

Requirements

Candidates must possess graduate level training in a relevant STEM field such as a Master of Science, PhD, or equivalent hands on research experience. Proven proficiency with scientific software libraries is non negotiable. You should have a deep, intuitive understanding of single cell genomics workflows and a strong passion for evaluating and improving artificial intelligence capabilities in the biotech sector.
