Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the design programme from the concept stage through to the technical design issue for all packages.
- Coordinate all design consultants, including architects, structural engineers, landscape architects, fire engineers, and specialist consultants.
- Manage the design package release schedule, ensuring timely issuance for construction as required by the Construction Manager.
- Enforce design freezes following concept approval and manage any post-freeze modifications through a formal change order process.
- Review, comment on, and resolve coordination errors in all design packages before they reach the site.
- Maintain the master drawing register across all disciplines and blocks, updating it with every new issue and revision.
- Issue architectural drawings to the site, obtain transmission receipts, and ensure current-revision drawings remain accessible at all times.
- Log, track, and resolve Requests for Information (RFIs) and Architect's Instructions efficiently.
- Interface directly with Construction Managers and Site Engineers regarding buildability, site conditions, and emerging queries.
- Manage the review and approval process for shop drawings and product samples.
- Ensure design teams utilize agreed tools, including AutoCAD, Revit/BIM platforms, and project management systems.
- Coordinate closely with Programme and MEP Managers regarding MEP sleeve and penetration drawings prior to slab pours.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related built environment discipline; registration with the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience, featuring at least 4 years in a design management or senior architectural coordination role on major construction projects.
- Strong understanding of architectural and structural design processes, drawing standards, and coordination requirements.
- Essential proficiency in AutoCAD; high desirability for Revit or equivalent BIM software experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing consultant teams on fast-track or Design and Build projects within Nigeria.
- Familiarity with document management platforms such as Procore, Aconex, or equivalent systems.

- Strong technical foundation spanning architecture, structure, and MEP.
- Confidence in challenging design teams regarding quality, coordination, and adherence to schedules.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for producing concise design status reports.
- Meticulous attention to detail concerning document naming, numbering, and filing protocols.
