About the Role and Hopetown

Longdue is seeking a Junior 3D Modeler to contribute to Hopetown, our eagerly anticipated narrative-first RPG. Inspired by the groundbreaking work of Disco Elysium, our game plunges players into a decaying town haunted by restless spirits and profound memories. You will step into the shoes of a washed-up ghost hunter, unraveling mysterious disappearances, confronting a world on the brink, and delving into your own troubled past.

Hopetown masterfully blends surrealism, deeply engaging dialogue, and psychological exploration. Our project is being developed by an extraordinary team, featuring key talent from some of the most acclaimed narrative games of the last decade. This includes Martin Luiga (founder of the ZA/UM Cultural Movement), Lenval Brown (the iconic narrator of Disco Elysium), Piotr Sobolewski (former CEO of Knights of Unity), and Paweł Błaszczak (the brilliant composer behind The Witcher and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt). We are currently in early production, diligently building out the foundational systems, compelling characters, and innovative mechanics that will define this unique experience. Your contributions will help us transform Hopetown from a truly great CRPG into an unforgettable, living, breathing universe rich with stories, surprises, and challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Create detailed 3D models of environments, props, and characters, adhering to the game's unique artistic vision and technical specifications.
Collaborate closely with our art director, designers, and other modelers to ensure consistency and quality across all in-game assets.
Participate in art reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to continuously improve asset quality and workflow.
Optimize 3D models for performance within the game engine, balancing visual fidelity with technical constraints.
Assist in developing and maintaining effective art pipelines and asset creation workflows.
Actively learn and adapt to new tools, techniques, and best practices in 3D modeling for game development.

Requirements

Proven experience creating high-quality 3D models (environments, props, or characters) demonstrated through a strong portfolio.
Proficiency with industry-standard 3D modeling software such as Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.
A solid understanding of topology, UV mapping, and texturing principles.
Familiarity with game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine is a plus.
Strong artistic eye and a keen understanding of visual storytelling.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, remote team environment.
Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn new skills and technologies.
A genuine passion for narrative-driven RPGs, particularly those with a focus on psychological themes and rich world-building.
