Role Description: Superintendent Pharmacist

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Superintendent Pharmacist to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis on Lagos Island. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the professional, ethical, and legal standards of our pharmacy operations.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Supervising dispensing activities to ensure the accurate and safe supply of medications.
Reviewing prescriptions for clinical appropriateness and providing expert patient counseling.
Leading and mentoring pharmacy teams, coordinating staff training, and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Maintaining proper documentation and managing controlled drugs in strict compliance with Nigerian laws.
Liaising with regulatory bodies and conducting regular audits to ensure rigorous quality assurance.
Promoting rational drug use, supporting public health initiatives, and collaborating with management to enhance overall service delivery.

Key Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this leadership role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Must be a licensed Pharmacist holding a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree.
Current active registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
Demonstrated experience in community or retail pharmacy practice, complemented by previous leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical care, medication safety, and local pharmacy laws and ethical standards.
Exceptional organizational, documentation, and inventory management skills, particularly regarding controlled substances and regulatory reporting.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for team mentorship and stakeholder collaboration.
Proficiency in utilizing pharmacy management systems and digital tools for efficient record-keeping.
