This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the 'Aggregator' project, supporting the growth of successful entrepreneurs and creating sustainable solutions to African challenges.
The Role
As a State Project Officer, you will serve as the engine room for project success at the state level. You will bridge the gap between AfriLabs headquarters, institutional partners, and local stakeholders. Your primary goal is to ensure the seamless planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities, ensuring that every objective is met with precision and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- State Coordination: Manage implementation workplans and serve as the primary focal point for all project activities within the state.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with university management, government agencies (MDAs, NBTE, NUC), and local innovation hubs.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Conduct site visits, track performance KPIs, and ensure data integrity by validating program outcomes.
- Operational Excellence: Facilitate training sessions, manage logistics, and coordinate workshops to foster a vibrant innovation ecosystem.
- Reporting: Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports that capture progress, challenges, and lessons learned.
Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a blend of administrative rigor and community-driven enthusiasm:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field. Professional certifications like PMP or PRINCE2 are a significant plus.
- Experience: 2–5 years of professional experience in project coordination or programme implementation, preferably within the NGO, donor-funded, or academic sectors.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional communication skills, strong organizational abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the capacity to work independently in a field-based environment.
