About the Role

The Star Development Coordinator plays a pivotal role in Jaza Energy’s expansion strategy. In this position, you will be entirely responsible for acquiring competent Jaza Stars (Sales Agents) for new hub sites. From the initial search to training and onboarding, the SDC owns the entire talent pipeline, ensuring that every newly established hub is managed by capable, well-trained local champions who can drive business success and support their communities.

Key Accountabilities

As the Star Development Coordinator, your primary areas of ownership will include:

Recruitment Management: Leading the end-to-end recruitment process—including localized advertising, interviewing, and hiring—to secure high-performing Jaza Stars whose values and ambitions align with Jaza Energy’s mission.
Training and Onboarding: Leading the training, testing, and evaluation of chosen Jaza Stars. You will ensure training materials remain up-to-date, relevant, and comprehensive, while managing all official onboarding documentation and procedures.

Detailed Responsibilities

On a day-to-day basis, your responsibilities will involve:

Extensively advertising open Jaza Star opportunities across newly targeted expansion areas.
Monitoring candidate interest levels and tailoring outreach to ensure recruitment pools meet quality and quantity criteria for interviews.
Coordinating all logisitics and localized arrangements for interviewing and training processes at each new expansion site.
Conducting interactive classroom sessions and practical, on-site training for prospective Jaza Star candidates.
Identifying gaps in training outcomes, advising on improvements, and collaborating with the QA Expansion Operations team to update training materials.
Managing administrative onboarding tasks, including registering new hires on the corporate Dashboard, setting up accounts on the Star App, and coordinating contract signings and documentation uploads to the secure team drive.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in any related field.
Experience: Proven experience in talent acquisition, particularly in rural or remote settings where traditional recruitment channels may not apply.
Local Networking: The ability to tap into close-knit community networks, local job boards, and traditional community avenues to find reliable candidates.
Interviewing Skills: Experience conducting structured, in-person interviews and assessing candidates for technical capability, soft skills, and cultural fit within rural working environments.
Adaptability & Resilience: Strong problem-solving capabilities to navigate recruitment challenges, such as limited local candidate pools, transport constraints, or extended timelines.
Language & Cultural Familiarity: Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust quickly with people of diverse backgrounds. Fluency in local languages or dialects spoken in the Oyo region is highly advantageous.
Travel: Willingness and ability to work independently and travel frequently to remote, off-grid locations.
