Empowering Public Health Through Technology: Senior Software Engineer at Clear Solutions
At Clear Solutions, we are on a relentless mission to combat one of the most preventable tragedies of our time: childhood mortality due to diarrhoea. Globally, over 400,000 children under the age of five lose their lives to this condition every year. However, simple and highly cost-effective treatments like Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) and Zinc have the power to prevent over 90% of these deaths if administered in time. Operating in Nigeria and beyond, our innovative approach involves collaborating directly with Community Health Workers to equip parents with free ORS and Zinc right in their homes, ensuring treatment is immediately available when a child falls ill.
We are currently seeking an exceptional Senior Software Engineer with a deep architectural grounding and hands-on implementation experience. In this role, you will make critical system design decisions to scale up our existing infrastructure and develop groundbreaking new tools. As a fast-moving, high-impact organization, your contributions will directly and rapidly shape our public health programs.
What You Will Do
Your time and expertise will be dynamically load-balanced across three core operational streams:
- Digital Services for Direct Impact: Design, build, and evolve technologies deployed in the field. This includes advancing our live Kotlin/Android VouScan App & Ecosystem used by community vendors in remote areas with offline-first data architectures and cloud synchronization. You will also evolve our backend stack (Google Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Preset/Superset) and prototype program support tools like AppSheet frontends backed by GCP.
- Technical Implementation for Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E): Collaborate closely with our M&E Lead to build field monitoring tools, own the backend data stack and dashboard metrics, and architect bespoke data pipelines using Python to process complex geospatial and programmatic datasets.
- Operations & Productivity Tech: Increase organizational efficiency by automating workflows, streamlining financial reporting with lightweight scripts, evolving internal project management systems, and enhancing our external web presence and CRM integrations.
