The Role
As a Senior SRE at Moniepoint, you will be at the heart of our technical operations. You will act as a bridge between high-level architectural strategy and ground-level operational excellence, ensuring our platforms remain stable, scalable, and resilient. You will be responsible for defining Service Level Objectives (SLOs), leading incident response, and architecting automated solutions that reduce manual intervention.
Key Responsibilities
- Incident Command: Serve as the primary technical lead and Incident Commander for high-severity issues, orchestrating cross-functional teams to restore service quickly.
- System Design & Observability: Partner with engineering squads during the design phase to bake reliability, circuit breakers, and rate limiting into new services from inception.
- Automation First: Write production-ready code in Java, Go, or Python to develop self-healing mechanisms and internal platforms.
- Performance Engineering: Conduct chaos engineering experiments and capacity planning to verify system resilience under extreme traffic loads.
What We Are Looking For
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in SRE or Backend Engineering.
- Strong coding proficiency in Java, Go, Rust, or Python.
- Proven expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred) and Kubernetes (GKE/EKS).
- In-depth knowledge of observability tools like OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Datadog.
- Experience operating production databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and streaming platforms (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
