About the Role

As a Senior JavaScript Developer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the crucial gap between production-grade code and the foundational model training data. Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will be diverse and impactful, including:

Semantic Annotation: Designing and executing sophisticated semantic annotation pipelines for JavaScript/TypeScript code snippets, meticulously capturing nuances such as function logic, robust error handling, asynchronous patterns, and critical security flows.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborating closely with our talented ML engineers to meticulously define annotation schemas that effectively capture execution traces, data flow, and critical edge cases within real-world JavaScript applications.
Tooling Development: Building essential internal tooling using Node.js and React to significantly accelerate annotation quality assurance (QA), robust versioning, and agile active learning loops.
Model Refinement: Conducting thorough reviews and diligent refinement of model-generated JavaScript code, actively identifying and addressing hallucinations, inefficiencies, and style violations to ensure high-quality output.
Synthetic Data Generation: Contributing strategically to synthetic data generation efforts by crafting challenging adversarial examples designed to stress-test and enhance model reasoning capabilities.
Mentorship: Providing invaluable mentorship to junior annotators, guiding them on JavaScript best practices and advanced language features, including closures, proxies, and generators.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates who possess:

Extensive Experience: A minimum of 6 years of professional software development experience, with at least 5 years heavily focused on modern JavaScript/TypeScript development.
Deep JS Understanding: A profound understanding of Abstract Syntax Trees (ASTs), scope chains, the event loop, and memory management within the v8 engine.
AI/ML Exposure: Hands-on experience building or fine-tuning AI/ML models, specifically LLMs, code-generation models, or NLP systems.
Annotation Expertise: Practical experience with annotation tools such as Label Studio, Prodigy, or custom-built pipelines, coupled with a solid understanding of versioned datasets.
Cloud & DevOps Acumen: Proven experience with major cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), specifically with services like EC2, Lambda, S3, and RDS. Strong working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CDK).
Software Engineering Principles: A strong grasp of test-driven development (TDD), static analysis techniques, and performance profiling methodologies.
Documentation Skills: The ability to write clear, structured documentation for guidelines and taxonomies, ensuring clarity and consistency.
Communication & Influence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and document clear architectural decision records (ADRs).
