The Role

As the Senior Coordinator, GIS Services, you will provide technical and strategic leadership for our geospatial initiatives. You will be at the heart of our mission, designing and deploying predictive models, interactive dashboards, and scalable data pipelines that directly influence disease surveillance, immunization planning, and emergency response across the continent. This role is not just about mapping; it is about bridging the gap between raw data and life-saving action.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Develop organizational spatial strategies and ensure GIS capabilities are integrated into core planning, monitoring, and evaluation processes.
Technical Oversight: Manage GIS service delivery, ensuring that complex spatial data is translated into actionable insights for donors, government partners, and field teams.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, M&E, and research teams to align GIS tools with broader data ecosystems and reporting workflows.
Capacity Building: Champion data standardization and help build local technical capacity to ensure our interventions remain evidence-based and sustainable.
Operational Excellence: Implement and manage GIS dashboards and mobile mapping tools, ensuring rigorous adherence to data governance and ethical standards.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who is as comfortable with complex data architectures as they are with communicating insights to non-technical stakeholders. You should possess:

A Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Data Science, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
3–5 years of professional experience, ideally within the NGO or international development sector.
Proficiency in industry-standard tools including ArcGIS Online, Power BI, and mobile data collection platforms like ODK or Kobo.
A proven track record of managing GIS workflows and a deep understanding of spatial data governance.
Relevant certifications such as ACAP or GISP are highly valued.
