Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement organizational spatial strategies and data standards to ensure scalable and sustainable GIS integration.
- Technical Oversight: Manage GIS service delivery, ensuring that spatial data is translated into actionable insights for stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with IT, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), and research teams to integrate GIS with broader analytics platforms and reporting ecosystems.
- Innovation: Design and implement advanced geospatial analyses, including service coverage assessments and predictive mapping.
- Data Governance: Uphold rigorous metadata standards, ethical data-sharing practices, and version control protocols.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a robust technical background who is eager to apply their skills in a humanitarian context. You should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Data Science, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3–5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally within the NGO or development sector.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Online, Power BI, and mobile data collection tools like ODK or Kobo.
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to translate complex spatial data for non-technical audiences.
