We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Coordinator, GIS / Data Analyst to join our team in Gombe, Nigeria.
The Role
As the Senior Coordinator, GIS Services, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission through geospatial intelligence. You will provide technical and strategic leadership, designing spatial strategies and ensuring that GIS capabilities are seamlessly integrated into our core health programs, including disease surveillance, immunization planning, and emergency response. You will lead a dedicated team to translate complex spatial data into actionable insights for stakeholders and decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop organizational spatial strategies and geospatial system architecture.
- Manage GIS service delivery, ensuring high-quality geospatial insights.
- Translate complex data into actionable geographic intelligence.
- Collaborate with IT, M&E, and research departments to align GIS with data pipelines.
- Oversee the implementation of GIS dashboards, mobile tools, and digital platforms.
- Ensure strict adherence to data governance and ethical sharing practices.
- Conduct advanced spatial analyses, such as catchment modeling and coverage assessments.
Who You Are
We are looking for a strategic leader with an analytical mindset who is passionate about using data to drive real-world impact. You should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Data Science, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in a data-driven, programmatic environment, ideally within the NGO sector.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Online, Power BI, and mobile data collection tools like ODK or Kobo.
- Strong knowledge of GIS surveying equipment and spatial databases.
- Professional certification such as ACAP or GISP is highly desirable.
