Kashia Limited, a modern workforce platform built specifically for Africa, is looking for a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join their fully remote, async-friendly team. Kashia bridges the gap between companies and verified talent, streamlines HR workflows, and facilitates secure escrow transactions across the continent.
What You'll Do
- Design and build robust backend services in Go, backed by PostgreSQL.
- Own API design and comprehensive documentation for services consumed by web and mobile clients.
- Improve the reliability, observability, and performance of existing systems.
- Review code and actively mentor mid-level engineers on the engineering team.
- Collaborate closely with product and design to scope and sequence feature delivery.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience, with at least 2 of those years working hands-on with Go.
- Strong SQL expertise and solid relational data modelling skills.
- Proven experience running and maintaining production services on AWS or similar cloud providers.
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code basics.
- Clear written communication skills to thrive in a fully remote, async-friendly environment.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in payments, banking, or ledger systems.
- Exposure to event-driven architectures or message queues.
- A track record of open-source contributions.
